Snapchat, the brainchild of Stanford University students, is making headlines. The photo messaging app has reportedly gained enough potential to raise $200 million in funding. Rumor has it Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had once approached the company with an offer they could, apparently, refuse.
Zuckerberg was looking to acquire the highly popular company for a whopping $1 billion, the same amount he put into buying Instagram. According to various sources, Snapchat refused to shake Facebook’s hand of business. Facebook on the other hand refused to comment because the matter is market speculation that could very well be a rumor, according to Wall Street Journal.
